Past Performances, Andrew Lidgus Salon Series Seasons 1&2

Season 1, the first performance of the Salon Series in October 2012, featured the Horizon Brass Quintet. Photo (top) shows members, Bruce Daughtery, John Burson, Mary Jo Neher, Adam Moen, and Sean Whitaker, after a lively 30 minute concert which included Canzon Bergamasca by Samuel Scheidt; Quintet Number One by Malcolm Arnold; Hymn and Psalm from Mass by Leonard Bernstein; and Grand Valley Fanfare by Eric Ewazen.

December 2012 eight singers from Bella Voce journeyed through distant centuries and far-off lands to revel in gorgeous choral works of the holidays. Performers, Sheetal Bhagat, William Bouvel, Micah Dingler, Henriët Fourie, Eric Miranda, Jeremy Parkin, Cynthia Spiegel, and guest conductor Ken Whitney, are shown in bottom photo.

The Salon Series with Brian Torosian on Thursday February 14th, 2013 was inspired. He performed arrangements on his 10-string guitar including selections from John Dowland, Silvius Weiss, Johann S. Bach, Francis Poulenc and Issac Albeniz.

April 17, 2013 four members of the CSO performed. The Tourmaline String Quartet, featuring David Taylor (violin), Cornelius Chiu (violin), Diane Mues (viola), and Gary Stucka (cello), gave a brilliant performance as they played movements from Johann Sebastian Bach: Suite Number 3 in C Major for Unaccompanied Cello bwv 1009 and Antonin Dvořák: Quartet in F Major, Opus 96, American Quartet (1893).

Season 2 Kick-off Event September 20, 2013. A beautiful evening in the garden with the critically acclaimed twenty-four member chorus Bella Voce, preceded by several "surprise" Trumpet Fanfares performed by John Burson & Chuck Finton.

December 5, 2013, Horizon Brass Quintet made their second appearance at the Salon Series with seasonal selections and welcome discussion.

February 13, 2014, featured The Rookery who provided a delightfully entertaining evening! Performing an eclectic selection of vocal arrangements including music by Brian Wilson and Mike Love to Thomas Tallis.

April 30, 2014, Andrew welcomed back Tourmaline String Quartet, members of the CSO Cornelius Chiu (violin), Kozue Funakoshi (violin), Diane Mues (viola), Gary Stucka (cello), with special guest soprano Gina Hilse for a concert of remarkable talent & glorious melody!
