About OnView

OnView, a collaboration between photographer Russell Phillips and visual designer Cynthia Crampton, opened in October 2010. OnView makes every effort to provide artists a venue that supports creativity and offers artwork that is affordable to potential buyers. OnView artists are actively engaged in the decision of artwork they bring to OnView and are encouraged to update the gallery with current work on a regular basis.

Russell Phillips was born in the U.S., but spent his formative years in Brazil returning to the U.S. for his education at the Kansas City Art Institute (BFA) and the Institue of Design, IIT Chicago (MS). His photographs have been exhibited around the country including the Chicago Cultural Center; the Chicago History Museum; and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; and are part of numerous collections including of the Illinois State Museum; Chicago History Museum; Seagrams Canadian Center for Architecture; University of Illinois: Chicago; The Bank of America LaSalle Photography Collection; and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. He runs Russell Phillips Photograph and teaches Photography at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and is a principal of OnView.

Cynthia Crampton is a native of Evanston, Illinois. An award-winning graphic designer, she attended the Art Institute of Chicago and has a degree in Design from the Institute of Design, IIT Chicago. She has provided graphic design services to many top book publishers in the U.S., as well as to numerous other corporations and non-profit groups in the Chicago area. She currently is principal of her own design firm and OnView.
